Big Ambitions Steam Key — Where to Buy & Key Deals

There is exactly one kind of Big Ambitions key: a Steam key. The game is a Steam-exclusive title — it is not on GOG, not on Epic Games Store, and not on consoles — so every key from every shop on the internet ultimately activates in your Steam library. Your real decision is not "which platform" but "which seller": the official Steam store for safety, or a third-party key marketplace for a possible discount.

Buy direct from Steam first

For almost everyone, the official Steam store page is the right answer. You get the file from Steam directly, the developer Hovgaard Games receives the full purchase price, regional pricing applies automatically, and refunds follow Steam's standard two-hour/two-week policy. Since 1.0 launched in August 2026 there have been active promotions, so the "full" price is often not the real price — check the current discount before paying anywhere else.

Buying direct also matters more for this game than for most. Hovgaard Games is a small Danish studio that has supported Big Ambitions with free content updates for over three years, from the Workshop update through the entire 1.0 release. A direct purchase is the cleanest way to make sure that support continues — the announced Costa Del Sol DLC still has to be paid for somehow.

Third-party key shops: Eneba, Kinguin, G2A and friends

Search interest in "Big Ambitions Eneba", "Big Ambitions Instant Gaming" and similar terms exists for a reason: authorized and grey-market key resellers often undercut Steam's sticker price. Price comparison sites like AllKeyShop and gg.deals aggregate these offers — gg.deals tracks the official-store low as well as marketplace keys, so you can see in one glance whether a "deal" actually beats Steam's own sale price.

Understand the two categories before buying. Authorized resellers buy keys in bulk from publishers, so those keys are legitimate by definition. Grey-market marketplaces (Kinguin, G2A and similar) resell keys from individual sellers, which introduces a small but real risk of region-locked, revoked or fraud-sourced keys. With a Steam-exclusive indie game, a revoked key means losing the game and your money with little recourse.

Practical rules if you go this route: compare against Steam's own current sale first, check which region the key activates in, prefer sellers with long track histories and many reviews, and pay with a method that has buyer protection. If the discount is under 10–15%, the risk-versus-reward math usually favors just buying on Steam.

What about GOG, Epic or a DRM-free version?

None exist. On GOG, Big Ambitions appears only on the community "Dreamlist" — a wishlist where users vote for games they want ported — which is not a store page and sells nothing. Epic Games Store has no listing at all. Steam discussions include polite requests for a DRM-free release, and the developer has not committed to one; notably, Hovgaard's previous game Startup Company did appear on GOG years ago but was later delisted.

So if a site claims to sell a "GOG key" or a "DRM-free Big Ambitions download", that claim alone is a red flag. The same goes for keys priced far below every comparator — the historical low across all legitimate channels is around $17, and keys sold dramatically under that are usually region-locked or worse.

Activating your key

Activation is standard Steam: open Steam, choose "Activate a Product on Steam" from the Games menu, paste the key, and the game attaches to your library for download on Windows or macOS. If you bought from a marketplace, activate immediately and check the game launches before the marketplace's dispute window closes — that is your safety net if anything is wrong with the key.

Refunds and what happens after purchase

Steam's standard refund window applies to direct purchases: request within fourteen days of buying and with under two hours of playtime, and refunds are generally approved automatically. Third-party marketplaces have their own, usually narrower policies — some sell keys as final — which is one more reason the official store is the low-risk default for a first purchase.

After activation, the game is yours permanently in your Steam library, including the 1.0 release, Steam Workshop access on Windows and macOS, and cloud saves. The announced Costa Del Sol DLC will be a separate purchase when it arrives — nothing about the base game changes — and updates like the ones Hovgaard shipped across three and a half years of Early Access have historically been free for owners.

Regional and currency notes

Steam bills in your account's store currency, and the US dollar figures on this page are only the anchor — European pricing has tracked the equivalent of roughly twenty euros, and Steam's regional tiers price the game lower in parts of Latin America, Asia and Türkiye.
